John is Brentwood Theatre’s Resident Musical Director
For the past 6 years he has successfully helped the theatre create Christmas shows that offer an alternative to the pantomimes performed at other theatres throughout Essex. These shows have proved to be exceptionally popular and have received wide spread acclaim, with fantastic reviews in the Stage and other publications. The 2007 production will be THE OWL AND THE PUSSYCAT WENT TO SEE
John created full backing tracks for David Wood shows such as THE MEG AND MOG SHOW and THE GINGERBREAD MAN. David was suitably impressed as traditionally these shows had only been performed with a simple piano accompaniment.
2005 saw further development when John not only arranged the music for JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, but actually wrote all of the songs and incidental music. This music sets all of the rhymes used in David Woods’s stage adaptation of this book and is available to hire. Please contact John to find out more.
In 2006 Brentwood Theatre took an exciting step forward with the World Premiere of THE GREAT SLEIGH ROBBERY. This family musical was written by John with Simon James Green and tells the story of how some very naughty elves want to ruin Christmas by stealing Santa’s sleigh!
Interest in this fun show is growing and John and Simon are now developing both show and future production opportunities
